UK grad sets the stage for homebuyers
Most of us couldn’t buy a new house without selling our old house and that’s what puts bread on Kris Floro’s table.
The University of Kentucky graduate owns All Dolled Up, a Northern Kentucky company that specializes in staging houses for resale — just like they do on HGTV.
Stagers can work for homeowners, Realtors or builders, like Ryland Homes, which hires Floro to help its customers sell so they can buy from Ryland. She is a former Delta flight attendant who is now a certified Home Staging Expert.
Floro will go through the house and tell the owner what to clean, what to paint, what to rearrange and what to get rid of. “It’s bringing the best features of the house to the market,” she said.
A big goal is to reduce the burden on the buyer.
“The less a potential buyer has to do, the better. People just want to move in to a home, They don’t want to have to worry about painting the purple walls,” Floro said.
Staging started on the West Coast and is slowly making its way east, Floro said. She launched All Dolled Up three years ago and “it’s really taken off since then.”
Floro believes All Dolled Up is the only full-service staging company in the Greater Cincinnati area. She works primarily in Northern Kentucky and occasionally in Lexington, where she graduated from UK in 1990.
